Introducing Our Mindset Coach Kajsa van Overbeek
Allow me to introduce our amazing mindset coach, Kajsa van Overbeek. She is an expert coach who will surely help you unlock the thoughts undermining your success and cultivate more helpful ones.
‘Hi,
My name is Kajsa. If you had told me five years ago that I would be a mindset coach today, I wouldn't have believed you. I used to work in engineering and law, and I didn't think much about things all that “pink floral yoga pants stuff” and feelings. I just focused on thinking logically.
But sometimes, your brain can trick you into ignoring things that don't feel right. You keep doing them, even when they hurt you. What do you do with bad feelings? Do you bottle them up until you can't take it anymore? (I did, and it led to a breakdown at my old job.) Do you eat, drink, or scroll on your phone to forget them? (I won't show you my screen time!)
When I started using coaching tools and learned to feel my emotions as well as think, my health and happiness got much better.
The most important thing I learned is that the way we think about ourselves comes from what we were taught growing up. It's not our fault. Without coaching tools, I would have passed these habits to my kids. They might learn to think about work, food, and alcohol in unhealthy ways.
So, my mission now is to stop these habits from being passed down. I want to help people be their true selves because that's what the world needs. The world needs the unique version of you, not the one trying to fit in.
For me, I use both my engineering brain and my coaching skills (there's science behind the pink floral yoga pants stuff). I don’t need to choose. This helps me coach people in a unique way.
Coaching has made me less judgmental, especially of myself. This helps me take care of my crazy Australian Cattle Dog, Rusty, and coach others with challenging dogs. It also helps me have better relationships with my teenage sons and husband. I'm more consistent with working out because I talk to myself kindly when I don't feel like it. Now, I'm more in tune with my body.
I love swimming, especially in open water. My big goal is to swim the English Channel in 2026. Can I do it while being kind to myself? I eat a vegetarian diet and am working towards a fully plant-based one. My favorite vegetarian dish is quiche because it's full of veggies and comforting. My favorite plant-based dishes are curries with lots of coconut.
I love backcountry backpacking with my dog, flying in Africa (I'm a private pilot), and scuba diving in the Antilles. I am also a professional photographer. My downtime is filled with reading… a lot.
I split my time between the Netherlands and Austria. I'm Dutch, and I guess some of my directness is too. I can coach you in English, German, or Dutch. I also speak French and know basic Luxembourgish and Spanish.’
